# Connecting Package Security Manager to Navigator

Anaconda Navigator is a desktop graphical user interface (GUI (A graphical interface with images, icons, and menus that lets you interact with software instead of typing commands.)) included in Anaconda Distribution that allows you to launch applications and manage conda packages (Software files and information about the software, such as its name, version, and description, bundled into a file that can be installed and managed by a package manager.), environments (A self-contained, isolated space for installing and running software packages.), and channels (A location (URL or file path) in a repository where conda looks for packages.) without using the command-line interface. Navigator can search for packages on [anaconda.org](https://www.anaconda.org) or in your local Package Security Manager repository (Any storage location from which software or software assets, like packages, can be retrieved and installed on a local computer.), and is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
