# anaconda channel

The `anaconda channel` command group manages Anaconda repository channels. Channels can exist on anaconda.com (private repository channels) or anaconda.org (public channels).

> This command replaces the deprecated `anaconda channel` command (which was an alias for `anaconda label`). The legacy `--list`, `--copy`, `--show`, `--lock`, `--unlock`, and `--remove` flags still work for backward compatibility but operate on labels instead. Labels are tags applied to packages within a channel (such as "main" or "dev") to organize releases, while channels are the repositories themselves.

A typical channel creation workflow is:

1. `anaconda channel create my-org/my-channel --private` to create a channel (in this case, a private one).
2. `anaconda channel upload packages/*.conda --channel my-org/my-channel` to upload packages.
